About Us

United Pro Wrestling was established in the fall of 2016 with the mission to showcase the exceptional talent of the local area and the Southern region, as well as to feature some of the finest independent wrestlers in the United States. All this is done while providing high-quality family entertainment for the fans.

The inaugural event, "Starting Point," took place on Saturday, January 14th, in Bowling Green, KY, at the National Guard Armory. The highlight was "The Headliner" Chris Michaels facing off against WWE Star Carlito in the main event. Additionally, a new United States champion emerged from a 20-man Gauntlet match, and the audience witnessed former NWA World Champion "Iron Man" Rob Conway compete against Derek Neal. Over 200 enthusiastic fans were in attendance. In the following months, events featured stars such as Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana and TNA's "The Monster" Abyss.

In July 2017, at "The Great American Clash," Carlito became the inaugural United Pro Wrestling Champion after winning an 8-man single elimination tournament, defeating "Superb" Scott Sexton in the final. The event also marked the return of "Iron Man" Rob Conway and the UPW debut of TNA's Robbie E. Additionally, the local band Gravel Switch performed several sets before and during the event.

That fall, UPW made its debut in Tennessee Ridge, TN, and Franklin, KY, at the New South Arena. In Franklin, "Superb" Scott Sexton captured the vacant UPW Championship from "Hot Fyre" Myron Reed. The season also marked the UPW debut of the legendary "Wild-Eyed Southern Boy," Tracy Smothers. In October, "Iron Man" Rob Conway triumphed over Derek Neal in a No DQ-No Countout match. Meanwhile, Tennessee Ridge witnessed a UPW Tag Team title change when The System (CCW & Ray Waddell) overthrew The Dynasty (Dyron Flynn & Zach Hartnell) to claim the championship.

United Pro Wrestling returned to Bowling Green in December 2017 for the inaugural Toys for Tots toy drive. This event, jointly promoted with Ultimate Championship Wrestling, quickly became a cherished annual UPW tradition. Throughout the following year, UPW hosted events in both Bowling Green and Franklin, including several shows in Tennessee Ridge. Additionally, we participated in UCW's mega-event, The Caverna Supershow, and revived professional wrestling at the Southern Kentucky Fair after a hiatus of over two decades, in collaboration with AWA New South.

What sets UPW apart is our openness to collaborate with any professional wrestling promotion. We have showcased championship matches from Ultimate Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Alliance. We've also organized joint events with UCW and AWA New South. We believe that this collaboration benefits not only the wrestlers and the promotions but also enables you, the fans, to discover and support new wrestlers.
